Gift Economy, Contributions and Fundraising campaign
Dear readers,
In these times where the unexpected is so present, where it is so important to support each other, we would like to explore new ways of exchange, new ways of thinking in money terms.
I have very little experience with commercial activities of life. I have been a voluntary worker in Auroville, India, for more than 29 years, and have almost exclusively worked in service areas.
It often has been almost miraculous how I have been able to live outside the system of economic exchange.
So this website is also not set up commercially as you can see. Personally, I’m trying to dream the new….letting the new come to me from a point of stillness, and maybe together with you.
If we stay still, just a little, we will all know that the way the world functions right now is not how we wish it to be. We may also discover hidden gems of new ways of functioning and good intentions,
We begin by offering you a book called Glimpses of Wonder on gift economy, and hope new things will emerge soon, like an online course, and hopefully new activities in Auroville too.
Gift economy being not a donation but a way where you determine freely your contribution.
We continue to offer the World Game for children and for adults on a regular basis, which is a way of expressing from the inner child’s corner of ourselves in the sense of soul space, and not forgetting the dreams for the future.
We also continue offering our weekly forest walks ‘Being Nature- Being Forest’ regularly, beside all other offerings like ‘Children and the Natural World’ -closed weekly group-and others on demand.
There are many changes happening in Auroville and we have decided to stop the experiment of gift economy for our activities as it is not sustainable right now. We are working with minimum contributions and a sliding scale model as much as possible.
